Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to and use of Wayne County Criminal History. Visiting a page, reading its content, or using a search tool means agreement with the full terms. A person who does not accept them should stop using the site. Separate government and outside services reached through links apply their own rules.

NO FCRA USE. This is a privately operated website with no government affiliation. It is not a consumer reporting agency, and neither its content nor its partner tools may be used for credit, employment, insurance, tenant screening, or another purpose regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

1. What This Website Is

Wayne County Criminal History is a private reference. It does not hold official files, conduct official background checks, certify copies, or submit documents. It identifies the Wayne County sheriff and courts, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Tennessee Department of Correction, Tennessee Sex Offender Registry, and other official sources that maintain records.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Access is conditioned on lawful, respectful use.

  • Do not violate federal, Tennessee, or local law.
  • Do not threaten, stalk, harass, or intimidate another person.
  • Do not use the content for an FCRA-regulated decision.
  • Do not gain unauthorized access to site systems.
  • Do not deploy bots, scrapers, or other automated extraction tools.
  • Do not interfere with availability or another visitor's access.

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information from this site or a linked tool may not be used to stalk, threaten, intimidate, harass, or unlawfully discriminate. Tennessee registry information is provided for public safety. TBI warns that misuse against a listed person can create criminal or civil liability, so no one should confront or pursue a person based on a registry result.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

This site does not produce consumer reports and is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. Its pages and outside search tools are not offered for decisions involving credit, employment, tenant screening, insurance, licenses, benefits, or another regulated purpose. An official or legally compliant process must be used when law requires one.

5. No Legal Advice

General descriptions of Wayne County and Tennessee record systems are not legal advice. A licensed Tennessee attorney should address how a pending charge, warrant, disposition, or expungement law affects a specific matter.

6. No Warranties

Content and site functions are supplied “as is.” No promise is made that information is complete, current, accurate, uninterrupted, secure, or free of errors. Charges can change, cases can close, records can be expunged, and agency procedures can shift. Verification must come from the originating office.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links can lead to Wayne County offices, Tennessee agencies, courts, legal resources, and outside search providers. Those services control their content, prices, uptime, and data practices. Their terms should be reviewed before use, and this site is not responsible for their acts or omissions.

8. Intellectual Property

Unless a source is otherwise identified, text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Wayne County Criminal History or its content partners. Copying, adapting, republishing, or distributing protected material requires prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the site and its operators are not liable for a loss arising from use of the content, inability to use the site, or reliance on information returned by a linked service.

10. Indemnification

A user agrees to defend and hold the site and its operators harmless from claims, demands, costs, and legal fees caused by that user's conduct, misuse, or violation of these terms.

11. Governing Law

Tennessee law governs these terms. The Tennessee Public Records Act, TCA §§10-7-501 et seq., governs records held by state and local government custodians, not this private site. A dispute about use of this site must be brought in a court with proper jurisdiction in Tennessee.

12. Changes to These Terms

Revised terms may be posted at any time. A new version takes effect when published on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be limited or ended without advance notice when necessary, including for misuse or interference with site operation.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue. The affected part will be adjusted only as far as required for lawful enforcement.

15. Questions

Questions about these terms may be directed through the Contact page.
